The Conference Started with an Idea
The HHD Research Excellence and Innovation Conference was established in 2022-23 by Dean Mechelle Best who asked the College faculty and staff: "Do you have an innovative idea for which you need funding? Do you need support to collaborate with a colleague from a non-HHD department? Do you want to provide research, creative works, and/or program opportunities for your students? Then this is the challenge for you."
And the conference was begun.
The Inaugural Conference, Promoting Inclusive Excellence Through Innovative and Creative Strategies was open to campus-wide and public attendance. Hosted by the College of Health and Human Development (HHD), the conference showcased the diversity of disciplines in the College. Participants attended workshops, panel discussions, poster and podium presentations, performances, installations, and exhibits from HHD students, faculty, and staff, and took advantage of networking opportunities.
