SEED Training

What is SEED?

SEED provides an opportunity to promote honest, open conversation with the goal to cultivate a safe and inclusive environment for staff, faculty, and students.

SEED Training uses storytelling to reflect upon our own past, our current roles, and how we can imagine the experience of people unlike ourselves through learning, narratives, and media.

During the training, storytelling will be used to examine problems and power dynamics at CSUN and to identify stories of successful instances of change at CSUN and other institutions. These narratives will help provide tangible solutions to make changes within the leader’s respective units.

Testimonials

“Through the power of storytelling I learned more about myself and the life experience of my colleagues. SEED helped me to see our students as the amazing, unique individuals that they are, as well as look for systemic inequities in university/classroom policies and make changes to those policies so CSUN is a more equitable institution. I wish I had participated in SEED sooner.” Dr. Paul Lazarony
