Opportunities
CSUN faculty members with background/training in assessment, research methods and/or evaluation who would like to become part of CARE will have the opportunity to work with principal investigators, community agencies and external contractors earning unit release time and/or additional pay (which can be paid during regular or off semesters following the standard rules).
Faculty Roles and Expectations:
- CARE affiliate – assessment, research and evaluation work is referred to faculty affiliates in relevant fields
- CARE project supervisor – assist with the planning and implementation of assessment, research and evaluation work while supervising other care personnel and student assistants
- CARE area coordinator – work as a coordinator for your college coordinating of assessment, research and evaluation goals of the college and assisting principal investigators in your college develop grant proposals and contracts.
CSUN students with interests in gaining hands-on experience and training in the areas of assessment, research and evaluation can apply to work on a CARE project. Under the supervision of a faculty team member, student opportunities may include:
- working directly with project PIs
- reviewing research grant proposals
- collecting data through surveys, interviews, and focus groups
- performing quantitative and qualitative analyses
- creating visualizations and/or presentations of findings
- reporting/summarizing project data
