To ensure your success, advisement is highly suggested prior to registration for all incoming transfer students. Transfer Advisement Workshops for Fall 2024 Transfer students will begin in mid-April.
Please set up and check your CSUN Gmail account often, as we will send you an email with details on how to set up your appointment. Starting mid-April, you may also call our office if you need assistance to sign up for your Transfer Advisement Workshop.
Topics covered during advisement:

- Course requirements and pre-requisites
- How to read and understand your Degree Progress Report (DPR)
- Questions and Answers
What should I do BEFORE my advisement session?

- View the Transfer Tips (in first drop-down menu below)
- Click here for instructions on how to download and access your Degree Progress Report (DPR) to start reviewing your remaining degree requirements. Your DPR will not be fully accurate until your final transcripts have been received and officially evaluated by Admissions and Records.

In order to attend CSUN next semester, you must:
- Declare your intent to register by the established deadlines.

Each guide takes you step-by-step on how to add a class, wait list a closed class, and how to use permission numbers.
All CSU undergraduate students with catalog years 2024 and beyond must demonstrate competency in writing skills as a requirement for graduation. At CSUN, students who have met the lower division writing requirement, completed 56 units or more, and intend to graduate with a baccalaureate degree are required to demonstrate their writing proficiency in one of two ways:
- Students may meet the GWAR by receiving a grade of "C" or better in a minimum of 6 units of coursework in designated Writing Intensive upper division curriculum; or
- Students may meet the GWAR by receiving a grade of "C" or better in ENGL 345 Recursive Writing.

These major sheets are to be used as a tool to help guide you but do not replace the official Degree Progress Report (DPR), that outlines your specific requirements.
