Brittany Brown’s Coach

Brittany Brown’s Coach is Lawrence Johnson also known as the "Boogie." Johnson joined the Arkansas Razorbacks as an assistant coach. His expertise lies in teaching sprints and hurdle races. Johnson has twice been awarded USATF National Coach of the Year in 2013 and 2019. He had previously coached Olympic athletes Dalilah Muhammad and Briana Rollins McNeal to world records. Most recently, Johnson served as Clemson's Director of Track and Field. Before that, he coached at Virginia Tech, Southern Illinois, and Cal State Northridge. Johnson is a former competitive sprinter, who has a record of excellence in developing some of the finest athletes in the world. -- Sportskeedia

Piar set for US Women's Amateur Tourney

Piar is one of 156 golfers to qualify for the amateur tourney. She just wrapped up her sophomore season on the golf team at Cal-State-Northridge in California. -- Advantage News

Rochester Knocks Out 5 HRs in their Dominating Victory Over Minot

The Willmar Stingers score five runs in the seventh to extend the lead and take down the Badlands Big Sticks 10-3. Andrew Sojka (California State University Northridge) went 2-for-3 scoring three times with two RBI and one stolen base. Max Buettenback (University of Nebraska) went 2-for-5 scoring once with a double and three RBI. Brayden Hellum (Kirkwood Community College) went 1-for-4 scoring once with a double and one RBI. Gabe D’Arcy (University of San Diego) went 2-for-3 with one RBI and two stolen bases. Kaden Carpenter (University of Utah) went 1-for-5 scoring once with a double and one RBI. Hunter Possehl (Florida Gulf Coast University) earned the win throwing five scoreless innings with three strikeouts allowing three hits and two walks. -- Northwoods League

Piar heading back to Cal State-Northridge for more golf

Former Marquette Explorers golfer Gracie Piar is heading out to California soon for her junior year of college.  She will be back at Cal State-Northridge in Los Angeles, California for another year of classes and as a member of the golf team there.  Her major is business-real estate.

Matadors Open Exhibition Play with 6-1 Win Over TMU

California State University, Northridge Men’s Soccer recently opened up exhibition play with a 6-1 victory over The Master’s University  at Matador Soccer Field. The group of Jorge Solorzano, Eyifehn Forfor, Marley Edwards and Odin Rosten scored goals over the first two periods while Matthieu Fiadjoe; and Michael Blevins also notched goals in a 30-minute third period.

TNT Analyst Kenny Smith’s Youngest Son Joins Exposure Camp Weeks After Receiving CSU Offer

His dad, Kenny Smith, reposted the camp announcement on his Instagram Stories. Although the 2x NBA champ didn’t add any captions or emojis, the excitement is palpable as the 16-year-old is about to step into an important part of his life and career. Malloy was also recently awarded a scholarship from California State University, Northridge. He made the announcement on his Instagram handle.

Marley Edwards Named All-Big West Preseason, CSUN Soccer Picked Sixth

CSUN Men's Soccer senior Marley Edwards has been named to the 2024 Big West Preseason Coaches' Team. The Matadors are projected to finish sixth in the preseason poll, with UC Irvine leading the rankings. Edwards has made significant contributions in his two years at CSUN, starting 12 matches last season and totaling 17 shots.

California State University, Northridge women’s soccer fell to No. 8 Texas Tech on Sunday at John Walker Soccer Complex. The Red Raiders jumped on the Matadors with two early goals and added a pair in the second half in the victory.

CSUN Men's Soccer concluded their exhibition matches with a 1-1 draw against UCLA at Matador Soccer Field. Odin Rosten scored for CSUN in the 81st minute, but UCLA equalized shortly before the match's end, ensuring both teams left the field with a tie. Despite intense competition, the match saw limited shots until late-game efforts brought scoring chances for both sides.
