Qualifications
- Completion of Master's Degree in a field related to Human Development
- Completion of NAEYC Accreditation requirements for administrator
- Completion of licensing agency requirements for administration (CA Title XXII)
- Experience working with young children and families

- Experience with culturally, linguistically, and developmentally diverse populations
- Demonstrated competence in developmentally appropriate inclusive programs
Responsibilities
University
- Recommends major facility and equipment improvements to the Family & Consumer Sciences Chair
- Outreach to departments for participation and/or observation experiences
- Oversight on university students' observation and field experiences
- Reviews/recommends appropriate research to CSUN Human Subject Committee
Outside Agencies
- Maintains appropriate standards for various agencies, including NAEYC Accreditation, DPSS state licensing, fire and sanitation standards
- Makes applications and renewals as mandated
- Meets with agency officials and complies with inspection recommendations
Staff Supervision
- Coordinates interviews, hiring, termination of staff/faculty in consultation with Family & Consumer Sciences Chair
- Approves hiring of student assistant interns
- Meets with staff/faculty to oversee curriculum planning and performance
- Assists Site Supervisor in orientation of student assistant interns
Finances
- Prepares projected budgets for Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer Sessions
- Reviews actual annual budgetary expenditures (in progress)
- Approves all purchases
- Coordinates projects with Health & Human Development Director
Other
- Represents Child & Family Studies Center at various on/off campus functions
- Maintains networking with other early childhood/family studies professionals
- Other duties as assigned by Family & Consumer Sciences Chair

Responsibilities
University
- Filing minor PPM maintenance requests
- Coordinates university students orientation and field training
- Coordinates dietetic interns participation at the Child & Family Studies Center with faculty supervisor
Outside Agencies
- Insures daily compliance with inspection recommendations
- Insures that monthly emergency drills are held in each classroom
Child & Family Studies Center Programs
- Supervises and coordinates the day-to-day functioning of all programs
- Oversees enrollment of children
- Addresses various concerns as they arise with parents, teachers, students, etc.
- Liaison with Parent Booster Club activities and fundraisers
Staff Supervision
- Interviews and recommends student assistant interns for hiring
- Maintains appropriate teacher/child ratio in classrooms
- Arranges for substitute staff
- Conducts weekly or bimonthly staff meetings, as needed
- Assists Director of Research in orientation of student assistant interns
Other
- Maintains networking with other early childhood/family studies professionals
- Other duties as assigned by Director/Program Coordinator and Family & Consumer Sciences Chair

- Completion of NAEYC Accreditation requirements for teacher
- Completion of licensing agency requirements for teacher (CA Title XXII)
- Experience working with children in an inclusion setting
- Experience working with culturally, linguistically, and developmentally diverse populations
- Demonstrated competence in implementing developmentally appropriate practices in an early childhood education classroom
Responsibilities
Classroom
- Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate, inclusive preschool program that is consistent with NAEYC accreditation guidelines
- Supervise and insure the safety and well being of the children at all times; remain alert to the needs and/or problems of the children as individuals and as a group
- Keep classroom, storage rooms, bathrooms, and yard clean, orderly, and inviting
- Complete developmental assessments on each child at least twice, annually
- Conduct individual conferences with parents of each child at least twice, annually
- Write monthly classroom correspondence for Parent Newsletter
University
- Supervise and evaluate university fieldwork students, and conduct daily staff training meetings
- Incorporate university student projects into curriculum
- Train assigned student assistant(s) utilizing a team approach
Staff
- Coordinate activities with staff from the CHIME Institute
- Participate in weekly professional staff meetings
- Keep Administrative Director informed of program
- Report any special needs or concerns to Administrative Director
Qualifications

- Completion of licensing agency requirements for assistant teacher (CA Title XXII)
- Experience working in a developmentally appropriate early childhood program preferred
Responsibilities
Classroom
- Assist Lead Teacher in developing and implementing a developmentally appropriate inclusive early childhood program consistent with NAEYC guidelines
- Supervise and insure the safety and well being of the children at all times; remain alert to the needs and/or problems of the children as individuals and as a group
- Keep classroom, storage room, bathrooms, and yard clean, orderly, and inviting
Training
- In teaching teams, devise a method of increasing assistant responsibilities over the course of the semester to include:
- planning and implementing curriculum, including small group activities
- leading whole group activities
Written Assignments
- Developmental assessments on individual children (Fall Initial Assessment, Spring Final Assessment)
- Parent conference summaries on individual families (one at each mid-semester)
- Curriculum activity plans as determined by Lead Teacher
Meetings
- Daily staff training meetings
- Weekly professional school staff meetings as determined by Lead Teacher
Other
- Be familiar with and follow CFSC policies contained in the Student Training Manual
- May assume temporary responsibilities of teacher in Lead Teacher's absence
- Infant & Child CPR training and First Aid for those considering long term employment as a sign of professional promise
