Classes & Labs
In the early childhood classroom, under the guidance of a LAB School Instructor, students will engage in a comprehensive hands-on learning experience. They will demonstrate professionalism by maintaining punctuality and regular attendance, while interacting respectfully with both children and families. Students will actively participate in all aspects of the daily routine, engaging with children and staff in a meaningful way. They will observe children and staff thoughtfully in various settings, using objective language to document their observations. Through regular discussions during staff meetings, students will contribute insights on classroom events and communicate their experiences both verbally and in writing. Applying developmental theory to their classroom practices, students will assess and document children's growth and development using both formal and informal assessment tools. Additionally, they will evaluate their observations and make informed recommendations for supporting each child's learning and development.
