Peer-to-Peer Support

The Office of Student Success pioneered a virtual, large-scale peer matching program that connected new CSUN students with experienced Matadors who share similar interests, background, and even career aspirations. Having a student navigator enhances your campus experience by giving you useful insights and valuable support during your transition to CSUN. In turn, navigators gain the opportunity to get involved on campus, gain volunteer experience, and make a true difference.

History of Matador Connect
Established in Summer 2020, CSUN Matador Connect was the campus’ response to beginning a fully-virtual semester. As a way to connect new students, the program aimed to build a community through the online platform. The program continues to adapt to the changing needs of our students while still fostering a greater sense of belong at CSUN.

Over 1,300 peer-to-peer matches to date.
