Student Organization Support Fund

 

The Student Organization Support Fund (SOSF) was established by the Dean’s office of the Andrew J. Anagnost College of Engineering and Computer Science (ACECS) to provide financial resources to the college’s Student Organizations (SO)s as a last resort to help cover a budget shortfall after all fundraising efforts have been exhausted. The SOSF is NOT intended to fund fully any application submitted.

 

The funds for the SOSF are provided through philanthropic contributions by alumni and friends of the Anagnost College of Engineering and Computer Science, therefore, they are limited. All applications will be reviewed on a first come first served basis, and subject to funds availability.

  • Must be an Associated Student approved Student Organization (SO) in good standing
  • Must be an approved ACECS student organization in good standing
  • Must complete the application fully in a timely manner
    • For events that anticipate participation of less than 50 people, the required application submission date must be at least six (6) weeks before the event.
    • For events that anticipate participation of 51 or more people, the required application submission date must be at least eight (8) weeks before the event.
    • Last minute applications will not be accepted

  • Student Organization Support Fund is intended to help bridge the gap between the budget amount and the fundraising carried out by the SO. Its purpose is not to fund the entire endeavor.
  • The funds may be used for conference attendance, events that support students of the Anagnost College of Engineering and Computer Science through the work of the applying student organization.
  • If an event involves Youth participation, the appropriate paperwork needs to be filed.
  • If an event includes a BBQ, approval from EH&S and MIC will need to be obtained in addition to a fire permit.
  • Preference may be given to:
    • opportunities that enhance the CSUN student experience on campus
    • SOs that participate in mandated informational meetings and other events of the Office of the Dean and other ACECS student organizations
    • SOs that meet the submission periods noted above
