Open Enrollment 2026
The health and wellbeing of our employees is important, and as such, the CSU is committed to offering benefits and plan options to cover your individual and family health needs.
We encourage you to make sure your benefits work for you by reviewing your current plans and participating in the Annual Benefits Open Enrollment period accordingly.
The Open Enrollment period for benefit eligible employees will take place:
Monday, September 14, 2026 through Friday, October 9, 2026
During the Open Enrollment period, employees may enroll-in, change or cancel Health, Dental, Vision, FlexCash, Dependent Care Account (DCRA), Health Care Reimbursement (HCRA) or Voluntary Benefit Plans.
Any changes made during the Open Enrollment period will be effective January 1, 2027.

In addition to the benefits information available through the CSU Benefits Open Enrollment website, a virtual platform will also host a CSU LIVE Benefits Fair, which is scheduled for:
Thursday, October 1, 2026 | 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.*
At the LIVE event, you’ll be able to video or text chat with providers and your campus HR team. You must REGISTER to get access to the Benefits Fair website, so don’t delay, registration is open now.
CSU Open Enrollment – The Standard
Learn about CSU’s one-time special enrollment opportunity through The Standard. This webinar will cover Voluntary Life, Critical Illness, Accident, and other voluntary benefits, along with eligibility, coverage options, and resources to help you make informed decisions for you and your family.
To assist staff and faculty who may have questions regarding the 2026 Annual Open Enrollment process, Benefits Administration representatives will have a limited number of 15 minute consultations available on the following dates/times. Select the action button below to make an appointment.
Tuesday, October 6 | 9:00 AM - 11:20 AM (15 min. Virtual Appointments)
Wednesday, October 7 | 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM (15 min. In-Person Appointments)
You will make changes to your benefit elections in the CSUN Portal, via the "Enroll In Benefits" Link in the HR (Human Resources) / Employee navigation.
Remember to access the portal on or after September 14th but before close of business on October 9th to change your benefit elections. For optimal viewing, access the portal using Chrome or Firefox.
Full details on health plans options are available at https://www.calpers.ca.gov/. By viewing your CalPERS Health Plan Statement available through your personalized my|CalPERS account, you can view your current plan, and any specific health benefit changes that may affect you in the upcoming year. If you do not have an account, you can create one by going to the my|CalPERS Log In page, and selecting Register Now.
If you don't want to make any changes to your current benefits, you don't need to do anything. Your current elections for these plans will automatically carry over into the 2027 plan year.
However, if you want a Health Care or Dependent Care Reimbursement Account, you must re-enroll every year.
