Rooted in a Community Cultural Wealth (CCW) framework, EMBARC celebrates the strengths you already bring — from your family, culture, and community. We believe your lived experiences are valuable, and we’re here to help you build on them as you explore academic and research opportunities.

As an EMBARC Summer Scholar, you will:

• Connect with faculty and peers from diverse backgrounds and disciplines who share your passion for health equity and social justice.
• Explore real-world health equity research questions  — independently and as part of a team collaboratively — alongside faculty mentors from Psychology, Mechanical Engineering, Health Sciences, and more.
• Build hands-on data skills and present your findings at research symposia hosted by the CSUN Health Equity and Research Education (HERE) Center.

Whether you’re curious about how health equity research can make a difference in communities, considering transferring to a four-year university, or thinking about graduate school — EMBARC is a place to grow your confidence, skills, and connections.

• April, 2026: Orientations

Summer Training: 

• June 14, 2026 - June 18, 2026

Eligibility:

• Must be 18 years old or older.
