Field Activities Safety

Field activities refer to any work conducted outside of campus. These activities can present varying levels of risk to employees and students, ranging from minimal to potentially life-threatening. To address these risks, the Department of Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) has established a Field Activities Safety Program. As part of this program, employees at CSUN who engage in field activities beyond the university's geographic boundaries are required to submit a Field Safety Plan. This document is intended to identify potential hazards and outline strategies to prevent or mitigate them.
This page provides information to help you conduct your field activity safely, whether you are just a few miles from your office or on the other side of the world.
